Renegades vs. Bandits

On Monday evening, our softball coach called for a mandatory meeting at Round Table. We all came thinking we were just going to talk about the upcoming fall season, but little did we know, we were in for a BIG SURPRISE.
When we got there we all sat at the back table and signed the coaches' pictures. Then we went in the back room so we could have some privacy while we talked. We all sat at one table innocently eating our pizza, breadsticks, and hot wings and jibber-jabbering about what we did that day, boys, and about the past tournament. After we finished eating and Gabby arrived, Coach John asked if we could come back in the main room where all the parents were. Of course we obeyed and followed him back into the room.
After we sat down, Randy and John made us quiet down so they could talk. They praised all of the helpers: Stacy, Mike, & Nancy. Then they said they had something for all of the girls. We were all praised and received a build-a-bear that was wearing a Renegade shirt with our personal numbers on them. Sounds like a normal team meeting, right?
Not a chance.
Then John made a shocking remark. He said, "I'm only going to coach one team, either the Bandits or the Renegades." We all looked at each other in utter shock and cluelessness, beginning to get tears in our eyes, knowing we were the team that was being abandoned. It's ironic how he's always saying we have to be committed to the team and then him making this motion shows that he wasn't really committed to us. Sad, right? Yeah.
Well, after the meeting we just sat around in a circle crying our eyes out. We then each took our turn to talk to him individually. He invited some to play with the Bandits and others aren't going to have the chance. Taking this step is going to be a huge challenge. Scared? I AM.
